Cat Heaven Cattery in Essex

In truth, Cat Heaven is a bit more than a simple boarding cattery but, whatever you call us, we're located in Essex, roughly central to Brentwood, Billericay, Basildon and Chelmsford. If you're looking for a luxury cattery in Essex you'll find us convenient and easy to reach, thanks to the A12. Our cattery, for lack of a better word, is built into the ground floor of a lovely country house, surrounded by acres of trees and fields.

Cat Heaven has eight suites, each furnished along similar lines to the lounge in your home but with the addition of various climbing frames, cat toys, feeding areas, litter trays and so on. Some of the rooms are fully carpetted, whereas some have hard floors with large rugs. Each suite has countless places for cats to sit, snooze and play. The rooms don't contain TVs but are linked to a central sound system which plays quiet music or radio programs throughout the day, which cats seem to like.

It hopefully goes without saying that the suites all have individually-controlled heating and cats are as comfortable as you'd expect them to be at home. The suites each have their own outside relaxation and exercise area, divided from the neighbouring suite by a glass wall. Cats boarding at Cat Heaven can see each other, in addition to the surrounding wildlife, but can't touch. Much the same as the indoor area, the outside areas are furnished with an assortment of chairs, shelves, climbing frames and toys, added according to the number of cats staying together and depending on what your cat or cats prefer.

Cats are fed indoors, in the main suite. We usually feed all the cats in one suite at the same time, but cats can be fed individually, if bickering is likely. As mentioned elsewhere, we are able to cater for more or less any diet, within reason. Fresh water is constantly available and suites are cleaned and inspected throughout the day.

How many cats can a suite accommodate?

This is probably the most common question we're asked after 'How much?' and it's just as easy to answer. Suites can only be booked for individual cats or for families of cats which normally live together in the same house. Each suite is rented by you, for your cats. If you have one cat, pampered rotten and used to butler service, you can book a suite for one cat and you're more than welcome to bring your own butler. Our average booking seems to be for a pair of cats, but our suites can easily cater for six cats, probably more.

If you're still trying to find the answer to the question 'How much?' you'll find what you're looking for on the 'Prices' page.
